We loved Purple International! It is a small, charming restaurant with excellent sushi. We had the Orange Blossom Roll, Schezuan Roll, and Fantasy Roll, all of which were excellent and prepared with very fresh ingredients. Our favorite was the Fantasy Roll, which was prepared without rice! We had never had anything like that. The squid salad was also delicious and fresh. Service was friendly and efficient. We will be back. I'm sorry about the photo. We had already dug in!)
The “It’s Lit” roll is the best roll in Greenville. This roll combined with sashimi salad and nigiri makes for an amazing lunch.
Great experience. Came here while on a trip and looked up sushi spots. Highly rated and close by hotel I decided to give it a try. No wait for a seat at the sushi bar. Was able to see some interactions with the regulars and get to know the chef and servers by name . Great portions within the sushi and sashimi. Hot sake was a win And I got to cheers the servers. All and all I felt like a part of the community and it was rad
The only reason I go downtown! I love the beef ramen, it’s very hearty and flavorful. Their sushi rolls are very good, and their sashimi is the best around! I recommend this to anyone and everyone because they have so many options. The waiters are always very nice.
This was unexpected. We have had sushi just about everywhere that's top notch in the upstate and low country. This is a hidden gem. This is our new spot for greenville. Such a fresh cut and selection of top tier fish. Everything was fresh. No soy or Wasabi needed. This is the holy grail for hand rolls. Cannot wait to come back and try the Thai dishes and other options. Date nights have a new groove. It's not over crowded like the other sushi spots. They legit were so nice. This is our new sushi home.
Do NOT let the humble frontage deceive you. Sushi Chef Tommy has this craft MASTERED! No need for a fancy build-out to get REALLY G-O-O-D sushi. Period. The atmosphere is actually quite cozy and the staff is very personable and never keeps you waiting. There's always someone in there dining but we never had to wait for a table. If you are voerwhelmed with the multitude of sushi rolls to pick from, just ask Tommy to whip up a specail for you based on waht you like. He nailed it for us and I told him to remember the roll he made for us so I can just request the "Tommy Special". Super nice guy so be sure to say Hello ...and THANK YOU! After eating a garden of flavors you'll have plenty of reasons why to thank Tommy.
We haven't been in a while, cause we had a terrible experience. Not the food but the service. It was rude and mind blowing. We decided to go back and I'm soooo glad we did. Tommy killed it with the sushi and the service wasnt bad. We'll be returning.
I wish I could give more stars! Our waitress was wonderful! She was efficient, friendly, and just plain sweet! I noticed there are a lot of sushi compliments, but I want to let everyone know that the bibimbap was fantastic! I recommend with the beef bulgogi. I've eaten in quite a few Korean restaurants, and this was my favorite! My nephew finished everyone's food. We left with no boxes. Fantastic job all around. Thank you!
